Blogging about Vlogging

As some of you may know, I recently started a vlog on YouTube! It’s been something I have been thinking about for ages, and I finally had enough time to take the plunge. I did a good amount of research beforehand - microphones, music licensing and editing - there’s quite a lot to consider and I wanted to start off with all the basics at a good level.. which I think I managed :)
I worried I’d struggle to have enough video ideas and footage, but right now I have more ideas than I know what to do with! I want to be able to cover the goings on in my life, what inspires me, the people who bring me joy, along with a large dose of gay art making.
As I write this I’m on the train back to London after my Christmas family visit, and earlier I was busy working on my fourth video. I’m so excited (and a little impatient) to build up a library of fun and interesting videos. My goal is to post one a week until around my tenth video - then I’ll see how I’m doing and think about settling in for a long-term publishing schedule of every couple of weeks. There is footage for another couple videos sitting on my hard drive, waiting to be edited - after my Christmas video, I’ll be covering my time at the gay festival Homobloc earlier in the month, and then I’ll be posting about my first time stepping in front of the canvas and being a life model, rather than artist. The videos are almost making themselves!

After that , I want to do some videos going into more detail about my art making process, from blank paper to mailing the finished piece. If you have any ideas for video content you’d like to see, please comment on this post and let me know!
With all that said, I hope you’ve had a great Christmas and are looking forward to 2026! Personally, I can’t wait to throw myself at this venture full force, creating more, experimenting more, engaging more. I feel like right now I’m laying the foundations for the project that will ultimately be my life’s work, and I don’t want to waste a moment.
