Contemporary British artist Max Davenport was born in 1990 and grew up in Preston, England.

After over a decade working in the video game industry as a digital concept artist, he transitioned into working with traditional media. Taking the skills developed from years of figure drawing and composition study, he seeks to explore themes of the male form.

"As a gay man, the male figure is a complex thing. An object of desire, sometimes envy. Strength and vulnerability, pride and shame. I aim to bring this sensitivity to my art, delving into the homosexual experience of masculinity."
